Native Snail Mini Clip

Native Snail Mini Clip

Mini plant-based cellulose acetate clips of a few of Hawaiʻi's endangered forest snails.  Each clip measures ~1.5" x 1.5"

Laminella, Laminella sanguinea, a rare species of land snail endemic to Oʻahu. Known for their glossy, reddish shells, these snails inhabit native forest habitats and play an essential role in maintaining ecological balance.

Achatinella, Achatinella mustelina, a critically endangered tree snail species endemic to the forests of Oʻahu. Renowned for their beautifully patterned shells, these snails play a vital role in native ecosystems as they graze on microscopic fungi.

Hiona, Hiona pilsbryi, a species of land snail endemic to Kauaʻi. This snail's gorgeous pattern actually comes from its body, which shines through its translucent shell.

Laulima was founded by conservation biologist and artist Danya Weber to connect people with the native plants and animals that we share our home with.  Purchase of these products directly support conservation efforts throughout Hawaiʻi of our native flora and fauna.
